Timers Needed for the FAST Invitational

Sat/Sun - Nov 14 and 15, 2009

FAST Families we invite you to step up. No experience necessary.

I am now taking names for the Timer's schedule.

Please pick a time and send me an email.

Session 1, Sat   Nov 14/09      warm-up 0800 (start 0900)

Session 2,                    "          warm-up 1500 (start 1600)

Session 3, Sun   Nov 15/09     warm-up 0800 (start 0900)

Session 4,                    "          warm-up 1500 (start 1600)

Sessions are usually 2-3 hrs. Please show up to time at the pool for the warm up time.

We will be needing 18 people per session.

Age Groups

This Friday Oct 30th, you are invited to attend team practice. Please arrive at the pool at 7pm so we can start the practice promptly at 7:15pm. We would like all competitive groups to attend and your presence is important as we are planning some activities that involve all groups and swimmers.

This Friday Oct 30th, you are invited to attend team practice. Please arrive at the pool at 7pm so we can start the practice promptly at 7:15pm. Our older Senior swimmers will be helping you with starts and turns.
 Due to this event your afternoon practice 3:30-4:30pm is cancelled.

Valuestar coupons

To all FAST families,

For those of you who have not yet received your Valuestar coupon cards from me, I will be at the pool on Sunday, October 25, 2009 from 3:00-3:30 to hand out cards.  Remember, the competitive families have already paid $60 for the cards and you can recoup this money by selling to friends, family and neighbours.  For those in Fast Fishes and Fast Fishes Advanced, you are also able to purchase these cards for $10 each and the club is giving away a few great prizes to the top sellers of the cards.  This is a great fundraiser for your club and we really appreciate all of your efforts.  Thank you and I will see you on Sunday.

Citrus and Cookie Dough Campaign

We are now half-way through our 2009 Citrus and Cookie Dough Campaign, with less than 2 weeks remaining in this great fundraising opportunity. Once again, all information and necessary forms are downloadable from our web site:

General Information
For those new to the Citrus Campaign and finding it difficult to answer the customer's question of "How Many in a Box", a half box of oranges will have 28-44 and a full box will have 56-88, and a half box of grapefruit will have 20-24 whereas a full box will have 40-48. Each box has one size; the larger the number of oranges/grapefruit in the box, the smaller the fruit.

1. The order deadline is November 8, 2008
2. All product orders must be paid in full by one(1) check from FAST member before the order is recognized and placed

Hello Swimmers and Parents,

Swimmers eligible to attend PrDiv meet in Campbelton-all Novice groups (Nov 1, Nov 2, Nov3) and AG3 Swimmers.

All PrDiv(Premier Division) meets have no qualifying standards so any swimmer in competitive groups who do not have more then 6 B standards can attend those meets.

Invitational Level meets-a swimmers needs at least 1 B standard to be eligible to attend the meet

Championship level meets- A or B standard depending on the level of championship

RE: Bathurst Invitational Oct 23-25 Swimmer Fees

The following is information on the upcoming FAST Invitational Swim Meet. 
Date:             November 14-15, 2009

Location:        Sir Max Aitken Pool UNB

Cost:               $5.00 per event (max 8 events) + Coaching fees. 

All swimmers to be informed of cost one day following the meet entry deadline date.

Start time:     Varies throughout meet.  Please refer to attached Meet Package

Hotel Accomodations – Not required

In an effort to respect swim meet entry deadlines, FAST will follow the following timelines for all events this season:

- Swimmer's confirmation deadline to Team Manager.  Oct 27

- Swimmer's payment  due : Nov 2-13

- Swimmers who have not paid prior to the swim meet will not be permitted to attend.

Please confirm swimmer attendance with me prior to October 27  In following the above timelines, should I not hear from swimmers by the October 27 deadline, I will assume and inform FAST that they will not be attending the swim meet.

Desperately need timers this weekend

Despite numerous pleas for assistance we have only 4 Timekeepers for tonight's session of the Amby Leger Invitational, none on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. I am both disappointed and desperate! If any of you can help with locating some parents/swimmers who can offer to spend a few hours helping the Varsity Reds, please let us know.

Dear Swimming Families,

Due to Varsity Swim meet taking place this weekend at UNB pool some of our practices will on modified schedule.  

Friday Oct 16th all evening practices 7:15PM-8:30PM are cancelled
Saturday 3-4 PM practices for Nov 2, NOV 3 and Fishes ADV are on but the coaching staff will be modified (Richard, Monica, Vero, Shauna, Melissa will be competing at the meet and they need to get ready)

Sunday 3-4 PM AG2 and 3-5PM  Sen and AG1 practices are on as per regular schedule (Dom is covering Marta's group and Marta is attending US Coaches Clinic in Philadelphia)

Also the meet manager is looking for officials that can help out with timing at the meet. These sessions are short and fast â€" great swimming to watch â€" not at all painful â€" please help!!!

Invitational Swim Meet on November 14 and 15

Hello FAST Families,

As you've seen in one of previous messages FAST is organizing an Invitational Swim Meet on November 14 and 15. To run the meet properly we have to organize hospitality, which means that we have to provide the food and beverages to the timers, officials and coaches while the meet is going on in the pool. In order to do that we need to have at least three people working in hospitality for each session. The entire meet is going to have four sessions: in the morning and in the afternoon each day Saturday and Sunday. People helping with hospitality are preparing food and beverages for the meet room (where all the timers and officials are meeting before and after the heats) and serving them while they are on the deck.

The other component involving food around the swim meet is canteen. Canteen is a great fund raising opportunity for the club and is set up in the entrance hall. We would need two people present for each of above mentioned four sessions. People involved with canteen are preparing the food and beverage items and selling to the public along with the programs for the meet.

If you are into food, have some spare time and are willing to help, please contact Ivana Vukic-Lepir (son Djordje Lepir is swimming with AG1) at lepir@yahoo.com or 454-0749.

Hospitality and canteen would not be successful without the help of all FAST families in food donations. In a week or so we are going to send another e-mail asking for specific donations, so please look out to see some more e-mails on this topic.

November 7, 2009 Devo Campbellton Swim Meet.

The following is information on the upcoming Divo Campbellton Swim Meet.

Clothing Order

Hi Folks,

Our Fall FAST Clothing and Equipment order has arrived and is ready for distribution. We will be in the lobby of the Sir Max Aiken Pool Building  on this Wednesday, October 14 from 6:30 – 8:00pm and Thursday, October 15 from 6:00-7:30pm.

I will be bring all equipment at these times only. If you are not able to pick up at these times, it will be your responsibility to contact me and make arrangement to pick up your equipment. In the past I have carried the orders back and forth to the pool for several weeks, it is time consuming and quite heavy. My personal and work commitments will not allow me to do that this year. Please try to make every attempt to come at one of these two times.

Cheryl Penney will also be on hand for these two sessions with the Value Star cards (which all of the competitive families have already paid for)

Hi Everyone,

2009 Citrus Fundraising Campaign

All FAST Members,

The 2009 Citrus Fundraising Campaign is officially underway!  The Campaign runs from October 11^th through November 8^th, 2009, with profits from the sale being credited towards the participating swimmer's account.  This is a great fundraising opportunity as the product is very popular.

You will find all information and necessary forms under the "Citrus Sale Information 2009" section on the Fundraising page of the FAST website at:

Several key points taken from the Citrus Sale Information document and worth highlighting are:

·         Each participating member is responsible to download their own customer order forms from the above mentioned website.  The order form document is entitled "Customer Order Information 2009".

·         Citrus Pick-up will be Saturday, December 5th, 2009.  The Pick-up location will be emailed to everyone in late November so you can inform your customers.

·         We will only accept cheques from FAST members.  Your customers must either make their purchase cheque payable to you or pay cash.  You are required to compile all your sales onto the "Summary form" and submit a single cheque covering your total sales, payable to FAST.  Once again, each participating member is responsible to download their own "Summary Order Form" from the above mentioned website location.
