LC training opportunity

Hello Swimmers and Parents,

 

We have a LC training opportunity to join TIDE swim club swimmers during Easter. We can do a training session on Monday April 5th 7-9am and dry land 9:30-10:30am. The morning LC practice will replace the afternoon practice at UNB.

Please let me know if you can come to the LC practice. Car pooling between families is encouraged.

IMPORTANT New Meet Response Procedure

Dear Parents,

 

In light of latest struggle with meet response system we are making some changes to hopefully streamline the process for all involved.

 

All meet information and sign up will be sent from meetresponse@gmail.com in this timeline:

 

1. 4 weeks out of scheduled meet we will send out a sign up email with a deadline to respond 7 days later(1week). After the deadline has passed and you missed it we will not make any additions. This is firm. The list of swimmers who signed up will be sent out as a confirmation.
2. Coaches will have 1 week to work on swimmers entries and work out all possible event changes. Swimmers will have one week to think about their entries and make up their minds. During that week we will also send out meet fees and coaching fees.
3. 2 weeks out of the meet the meet file is sent to the hosting club. Once the file has been sent you are responsible for all meet and coaching fees.

In the past we allowed some stragglers to get into the meet after deadlines as we tried to be accommodating and sympathetic to a lot of excuses but the bottom line was that's where a lot of confusions and mistakes started. It looks very unprofessional on our part sending 5 different meet files to meet manager claiming that every one of them is final. The amount of work that is involved as meet manager is enormous and we do not need to add even more to that.

 

Please get familiar with the rest of the meet calendar, if you have questions about your swimmers eligibility please contact your group coach:

FAST Fun Meet 10 and under

Hello all Swimmers and Parents,

 

We are calling on all FAST swimmers from Fishes and Fishes Advanced groups, all Novice groups who are 10 and under.

FAST will be running a swim meet for all competitive and non competitive swimmers who are 10 years old or younger.

This is a great way to get competitive experience in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, in your own home pool having your friends and family to cheer you on.

DATE: Sunday, April 18^th 2010

WHERE: UNB pool

TIME: 9:45 am warm up, 10:30 am start

Meet fee: $15.00 per swimmer

Competitive swimmers can choose up to 4 individual events from 50 fly, 50 back, 50 breast, 50 fr and 200 back, 200 breast, 200 free

Pre-competitive swimmers can choose up to 4 individual events from 25 fly, 25 back, 25 breast, 25 free and 50 fly, 50 back, 50 breast, 50 free

We'll finish off the meet with relays for all swimmers.

Good morning everyone,

 

Mary Heffernan has asked me to find a replacement treasurer as soon as possible, as she travels extensively for her work and would like to spend more time with her family when she is at home.  

 

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mary for her many years of hard work as our treasurer. Mary has worked tirelessly to overhaul the books and I am very grateful for the extra effort and expertise that she has brought to the job. I would also like to thank her husband Gerry, who has also been very involved in the day-to-day collection of cheques and banking. We really appreciate your dedication Mary and Gerry and we wish you well.

 

I am sending out this request to all FAST members in the hope that there is a parent who would be willing to take on the job of treasurer for the next few months until the AGM on June 9^th (and preferably on into the next season).  We would like to have as smooth a transition as possible. Please find in this e-mail information on the upcoming Halifax Swim Meet April 10-11.  This meet is for East Coast qualifyers and I have attached the meet package.  In an attempt to make Swim meet registration easier for all, I will begin trying to post Swim Meet information as soon as it is available, and offer a sign up sheet for those swimmers who are interested in participating.  This offers Marta time to input entries and make appropriate adjustment before the entry deadline.

Novice 1 Schedule Change

Hi everyone,

Due to a conflict in my schedule I am unable to coach the extra 15 minutes on Wednesday
(4;30-4;45). Starting Wednesday the 24th the extra 15 minutes will be pushed to Friday
afternoon practices. So the schedule will be the following:

Tuesday 6:30-8
Wednesday 3:30-4:30
Friday 3:30-4:45

Hello FAST swimmers participating in the upcoming UNB Devo Meet this Saturday March 20.  Please note that the meet fees for each swimmer are $23.00 (16.00 entry fee + 7.00 coaching fee).  Swimmers should talk to their coaches to find out when to arrive on the pool deck as this is a Saturday afternoon event.

from both novice 1 and ag 3 are on the list. The entries are due in 2 days so we need
to know by tomorrow if your swimmer is attending. There will be NO exception as this is
