Citrus Pick Up

fast_header3.png

Hi Everyone,

Please note that the date for the citrus pick-up is December 4 at Atcan Storage at 20 Acorn Street, off of Bishop Drive in Fredericton.  Please notify your customers if they are picking up their own orders.  We will be there from 9:00am until 1:00pm only.  Any citrus left after that will be donated.

We will need some help unloading the truck on Thursday December 2.  It will be arriving between 3:30 – 4:00pm at Atcan storage.  If you have a wheeled dolly to help convey the citrus to the storage please bring it with you. It doesn't usually take very long so any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Cheryll Penney

Thank you to all our officials

fast_header3.png

Because of the hard work of all our officials and volunteers, the FAST invitational was a great success!

I want to extend a huge thank you to all the FAST parents who  came out for any of the four sessions. You are responsible for making this a great meet.

Thanks to Ivana and the hospitality and canteen volunteers.
Preparations for the hospitality and canteen started months ago.  And this also involved showing up early and staying late for every session. Thanks for keeping all the volunteers and swimmers happy for the long sessions.

Thanks to all our timers
The sessions for this meet were unusually long because of the number of swimmers we had.  This made the job of the timers especially hard.   Our fist time volunteers and well as our grizzled veteran volunteers did an amazing job despite the heat, the noise and the long sessions.  The meet really could not run without your help.

Thanks to our other officials.
I want to thank our higher level officials for their commitment to FAST team.  These officials have given up time to obtain their officiating levels and volunteer  at every one of our meets ( and at the UNB meets).  FAST would be required to bring in officials at a cost if we did not have parents who offer to fill this need. These are FAST parents that are quick to sign up to help and  generally help for all four sessions of the meet.

Set up and Take down Volunteers
This meet we had the fastest and most efficient set-up and take-down of any meet I have ever seen!  I know from experience it can be a long and lonely job setting up  and taking down all those chairs, putting away all the lane ropes and picking up all the garbage after the meet.  After a long weekend meet, help with the take down is really appreciated.  Thanks again!

Very Special Thanks to Patti Ramsey , Officials co-ordinator and Diane Foreman, computer operator.
The successful running of a meet is due in large measure to the work of the officials co-ordinator and the computer operator.  Patti and Diane have been working for weeks to ensure that everything and everyone was in place to ensure the smooth running of our meet. All the work paid off because the meet ran without a hitch!  A real accomplishment for such a large meet. Thanks very much.

One final thank you to our FAST coaches Marta and Alex.  on behalf of the FAST parents and swimmers, thanks to Marta and Alex for helping our kids through a long hard weekend.

Great job everybody!
Pat K

Hi Folks,

We are very excited to finally be ready to order our East Coast Track Jackets. Marta spoke about our new incentive program at her Parent meetings at the beginning of the year. We are offering really cool Adidas Track Jackets in Red and Black for all swimmers who had achieved their current East Coast Times. Swimmers have until the end of this weekend's meet to get their times. (these Standards are available on our at swimmingfast.com or by pasting the swim nb link: http://www.swimnb.ca/EastCoast2010-2011.pdf).

We sized a number of our swimmers on deck yesterday. I will have the jackets on Thursday as well all w/e, if your child still needs to be sized.

The jackets are $40 for youth sizes and $50 for the women and men sizes. This price includes the Fast logo on the back of the neck. If you wish to include your swimmer's last name on front for an additional $3, please indicate that with your order.

Unfortunately, only swimmers with their East Coast times will be allowed  to order the jackets. All orders must be received by Tuesday of next week. I need to place the order on Friday. Our timing of ordering the jackets this early is based on Adidas availability to order them from Adidas. We will make every attempt to order more in the new year, however it will entirely depend on Adidas availability.

The following swimmers currently have their East Coast Times:
Lauren Adam
Gabriella Belsh
Teague Foreman
Alex Horwood
Noah Horwood
Sarah Jones
Mary Ketterling
Alexia Normand
Jon Reid
Cassidy Richards

I apologize for the late results. There was a glitch with the results being made official by Swim Canada. We would greatly appreciate it if you could still share our results in the paper as our swimmers love to see their name in the paper. (especially the young ones).

Our older swimmers are competing at home this weekend at the FAST Invitational Meet. We have 180 swimmers from around the province competing at this B level meet. I should have those results for you on Monday. Our computer operator will be able to provide me with the results at the end of the weekend instead of having to wait for Swim Canada to post them online..

Thanks in advance,
Heather Horwood

Note to all Officials and Timers

fast_header3.png

.

A REMINDER TO ALL OFFICIALS TO PLEASE SIGN IN AT LEAST 45 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SESSION.

All officials are asked to go to the officials room at least 45 minutes prior to the start of the session and sign in with the officials coordinator.  The officials room is room A116.  Direction to the room will be well marked.  This really helps us out and keeps the confusion and stress to a minimum.

Thanks to all the FAST parents who have volunteered to officiate at our meet this weekend.   Your time is very much appreciated.
We are still short a few spots for the first session, so please let Patti know if you can help out.

SET UP AND TAKE DOWN
I will be setting up the deck on Friday (5:30 - 6:30)pm during the FAST AG2 and AG3 practice.  I would really appreciate it if any parents in the stands at that time would consider coming on deck to help me unstack the chairs and tables etc. ( it should take about 15- 30 minutes)

The take down happens right after the meet on Sunday,  I would be grateful to any parents/swimmers  that can see it in their hearts to stay for a few minutes after the meet (15 minutes) to help me stack the chairs and put away the lane ropes.

Thanks

Product Order Submission

    • We will be at the UNB Pool on Saturday, November 7th from 4-5pm to receive orders.  Please have your completed Order Summary Form and check, and the bottom portion of all your Customer Order forms if your customers will be picking up their own citrus.  If you are picking up all of your citrus please keep your Customer Order Forms and submit only the Order Summary Form.

-OR-

    • Place your completed Order Summary Form and check, and the bottom portion of all your Customer Order forms (if your customers will be picking up their own citrus). in an envelope addressed "2010 CITRUS" in the FAST Mailbox located in the Pool Office.  If you do submit your order in this manner, you MUST email Cheryll (penney@nbnet.nb.ca) and Diane (foremanj@nbnet.nb.ca) to indicate you've place your order in the mailbox, else we have no way of knowing who is participating in this fundraiser and no means to verify we received the order.  We will pick up from the FAST mailbox on Sunday, November 7th.  I will then send a return email to inform you that I received your order.  If you DO NOT receive an email from either of us by Monday, November 8th, then we HAVE NOT received your order.

If you have questions, please contact Cheryll Penney at penney@nbnet.nb.ca or Diane Foreman at foremanj@nbnet.nb.ca.

Thanks in advance for your efforts with making this a successful fundraising event.

Best Regards,

Cheryll and Diane

Greetings to All FAST Members,

We are now one week into our 2010 Citrus Campaign, with less than 2 weeks remaining in this great fundraising opportunity. Once again, all information and necessary forms are downloadable from our web site:

Go to https://sites.google.com/site/fredfast01/parent-info-4/fundraising

General Information

For those new to the Citrus Campaign and finding it difficult to answer the customer's question of "How Many in a Box", a half box of oranges will have 28-44 and a full box will have 56-88, and a half box of grapefruit will have 20-24 whereas a full box will have 40-48. Each box has one size; the larger the number of oranges/grapefruit in the box, the smaller the fruit.
