Fun Times at Kingswood

Hi Everyone ,

I am here to invite all FAST kids for a few hours of fun at Kingswood Park, on Friday May 4th, from 5 until 7pm.  Bowling lanes and Laser tags have been reserved for our Club to enjoy and have fun together.

Following are prices for each item/activity but please keep in mind that the more we are, the less we pay, as we also have the option to rent the lanes and laser tags per hour instead of per string or person.  For example. for a group of 60 kids, each participant would pay $12.25 to bowl and play the lazer tag  (including shoe rentals).  Extra money would be necessary if your child wishes to purchase pizza and pop during the activities, or get tokens for the game machines.

Bowling $2.99/string/person
Shoe rental $1.99/person
Lazer tag $4.00/person/7.5 minute game
Two slices of pizza and pop $3.50 (pepperoni pizza and pepsi)
Tokens $3.30/bag of ten tokens

I will require the names of participants ahead of time so please send me the information below prior to end of day Tuesday, May 1st to help me plan the activities and food required.  I will be e-mailing parents the amount of money required for each kid to bowl and play laser tags once I have a final number of participants.  The money only needs to be brought in on the night of the activities.

1) child's name
2) child's age
3) indicate if child wishes to bowl (yes or no)
4) indicate if child wishes to play lazer tag (yes or no)
5) amount of pizza to be purchased

Please forward above information at tibodo4fun@rogers.com<mailto:tibodo4fun@rogers.com> prior to end of day May 1st.

Hope to see your child at Kingswood for what promises to be a great time!!!

Thank you,

Marie-Line Thibodeau

UNB pool update

Dear Swimmers and Families,

I am pleased to update you that the UNB pool filter system will replaced this summer.  The work is expected to take place over the normal shutdown period between August 13 and September 10.

This had been a major concern to our club as the existing system is 21 years old - well beyond its life expectancy of 15 years – and its failure would have posed a significant risk to our club.

The new system is expected to have a warranty of at least ten years and likely to last much longer under careful maintenance.

This is a major investment by UNB, and we appreciate their commitment to ensuring continuity of our swimming program as well as those of other aquatic partners.

Marianne Limpert Team Champions 2012

Congratulations to all swimmers!!!

This past weekend 54 FAST swimmers competed in MLTC championships in St John and won our 3rd consecutive Provincial Team Championships title. The weekend was very exciting with a tremendous team effort and fantastic swimming.

We had so many great performances in all age group categories, too many to mention all of them. Friday the 13th was a very lucky night for our club, we had 4 swimmers qualify for Age Group Nationals in Calgary this summer- Kelsea Vessey, Gabriella Belsh, David Thibodeau and Alex Horwood will join Noah Horwood, Cassidy Richards, Katarina Schatz and Lauren Adam to compete against the top swimmers in the country.

Congratulations to all coaches for their hard work and dedication. Our swimmers were well prepared and raced hard.

Swimmers, congratulations on a great team performance, you made us proud!!!
Big thank you to all our parents for their great support, we could not have done it without you.

Marta, Alexander, Katie and Dom

MLTC Officials Needed

Parents of swimmers attending MLTC's this weekend please step up to Officiate and note the email sent by the NB Officials Coordinator, Paul Berry

"Everyone,

I have an update from Gary on the status of officials for this weekend and sessions 1 and 6 look very thin.  The total number for those session does not even equal the number of clubs.  I would like to remind all officials of the motion passed at last year's AGM:

"Clubs sending 3 or more swimmers to an NB sanctioned competition are required to provide at least 1 official/volunteer per session. Clubs sending 20 or more swimmers to any SNB sanctioned competition are required to provide at least 2 officials/volunteers per session. The names of the officials are to accompany the meet entries."

Could you please send in the name of your officials to Gary as soon as they are known.  Forward your availability to Gary at - glosier@quispamsis.ca

Thanks.

Paul Berry"
