Clothing Order has been extended

Hi Folks,

 

The FAST Clothing order deadline has been extended to next Tuesday, October 7th. The folks at Tri- Athlete have arranged to have the Speedo Sweatshirts available to try on. They should be there tomorrow. I will send out a quick email to confirm that they have arrived at the store as soon as they call. They also have shorts available for sizing.

 

If you have placed your order and want to change a size, please email  me @ frederictonaquanauts@gmail.com and let me know your swimmer's name and new size.

Novice 1 & 2 Parent Meeting Update from Coach Marta

Novice 1 and 2 group Parents meeting:

• Novice 1 group schedule adjustment -Starting Sept. 29th.  NOVICE 1 practices on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday practice will be extended 15 min longer and Tuesday practice is cancelled
• Equipment required for practices- kick board and pull bouy (junior size) Fins are also recommended. If you have questions about equipment, please contact Heather Horwood  at frederictonaquanauts@gmail.com
• Head Group Parent Grace Martin can be contacted  at emartin@unb.ca, or Group Parent Rep for Nov 1, Mary Davis at mikedavi@nbnet.nb.ca   , or for Nov2, Jill Goodyear at chrisgoo@nb.sympatico.ca 

To establish communication between the parents and board and coaching staff, please forward all questions and concerns to Group Parent representative. They will bring it to the attention of the board or coaches.

New Apparel and Equipment Policy

Hi Folks,

We are sending our Team's new Apparel and Equipment Policy. We wanted to have the policy available before the deadline for the Clothing Order to allow parents time to place orders with the team. This policy will be discussed in further details at your scheduled Parent Meeting with Coach Marta.

FAST Practice Apparel and Equipment Policy

Mandatory Apparel at PM Practices: For all competitive groups with the Fredericton Aquanauts Swim Team, swimmers are expected to come to practices with the following:

• FAST bathing suit (Speedo black with red straps or black/red fun suit)
• 2 bathing caps with FAST logo,
• 2 pairs of goggles

Swimmers are not permitted to train in Aquablades or Fastskin suits.

All AM practices: Swimmers are permitted to wear a swimsuit and cap of their choice.

The Head Coach determines if the suit is appropriate.

Mandatory Equipment at Practice:

FAST Competitive Groups (NOV 1, NOV2, AG1, AG2, AG3, NAT)

It is recommended that FAST swimmers purchase their own equipment.

Nov 1 and 2 and AG 3 Group: Kick board, pull buoy, fins

AG1, 2 and Nat: Kick board, pull buoy, fins, paddles, snorkel, band

FAST Competition Apparel

Mandatory Apparel at Competitions: FAST swimmers in Nov 1 and 2 groups are expected to wear the following three items when representing the Fredericton Aquanauts Swim Team at competitive meets:

· Official FAST Team Swim suit – black Speedo suit with FAST logo(black Aquablades or Fastskin are acceptable to wear).

All swimmers in Group AG1, 2, 3 and National are expected to wear the following items when representing the Fredericton Aquanauts Swim Team at competitive meets:

Breaches of this policy may result in an athlete forfeiting his/her right to compete at the event.

Youth Cup

Youth Cup Information:

I realize that December is still a couple of months away but 

 

i thought that I would get on the ball with Youth Cup  plans.  I would like to know how many swimmers are interested in attending.  The dates are December 4th to the 7th.  We would leave Fredericton on the 3rd and return on the 8th.  I have checked into flights and the prices are very good.  (Return from Fredericton for $516.00 taxes included)  Please get back to me as son as possible if you plan to attend.
 
PS.  I am not sure of the time standards as the meet package is not online yet.  I think that they are higher (in some events ) then the A times.

Presently I have received only about half of your required online registrations. 
 
This is a required part of the registration process in addition to the registration night we had in September and if it is not completed your swimmers will not be permitted to swim next week due to insurance liabilities. NO exceptions!!! I will be sending a list of confirmed registrations to Marta on Friday
 
After registration night you were sent an email from Swim Canada with a link and/or a user id and password to register. If you have deleted this or have been trying to login but having difficulties please email me.

Continuation of last email re Clothing order

Google email is a little tricky sometimes....I sent the email unfinished ooops. Here is the entire email...

 

Hi Folks,

 

I have attached our Annual Clothing order form. We will also be handing our order forms at practices this week starting Monday evening.

 

This year our orders are a little different. Orders are due no later than September 30th. All orders must be paid for by that date or they will not be included in the order.

 

We have included a couple of practice suits from the Speedo Endurance line of Polyester suits that last forever, well not really forever but certainly longer than the lycra ones we like to race in. The old standby black flyback with red straps for the girls as well as a really fun swirly red one with black strap called Cosmic Wave. The boys have the standard black Endurance jammer suit as well as the cosmic wave jammer which is a black polyester suit with a red swirly splice up the side.

 

The black endurance suit as well as the black racing suit will be stamped with our team name.

 

This year we have also changed our clothing. We will have really fun Speedo hooded sweatshirts in black with our Fast logo embroidered on the chest. We will also be selling funky little red shorts for the girls and very cool reversible red shorts for the guys. Unfortunately the shorts are only available in adult sizing. Speedo size charts are available on the order form a a guide, however the folks at Tri-Athlete are our experts so please refer to them with any sizing questions. Clothing is non refundable to please check with them.

 

The folks at Tri-Athlete asked me to remind everyone to please not leave sizing assistance to the last day....In the past, it has been very busy and the wait for assistance may be long...

 

Please leave order with your cheque (no cash please) in the white box in the coaches office.

Fwd: FAST Practice Reminder

Hi Folks,

 

Swim practice time is almost here. Your swimmer starts on September 30th at UNB's Sir Max Aitken Pool. Fast Fishes will swim from 6:30pm until 7:15pm and Fishes Advance will swim from 7:15pm until 8pm. We ask that swimmers be on deck and ready to swim 10 minutes before practice starts.

 

We want to remind swimmers to bring their goggles, a cap, a towel and their swimsuit to the pool. Girls should wear a one piece suit, no bikinis please. Parents are welcome to watch their swimmers from the balcony above the pool. We ask that parents not be on the pool deck.

 

Our registrar, Michelle Reid, wants to remind everyone that your registration is not complete until you have signed up online with Swim Canada. You should have received an email from Swim Canada on Sept. 9th or 10th with your password and link to their online registration site. If you did not receive this email (or you deleted it by mistake), please email Michelle directly at mreid2215@rogers.com . If you have already gone through the registration online, you are done.  If you still have any questions re registration, please email Michelle at her email address. mreid2215@rogers.com . FAST requires all swimmers to be registered before being allowed in the water.

Hi all FAST families For those of you still trying to register your child thru the Swim Canada website... the website is down for upgrades til Monday Sept 15th at 12pm. Before it went down I had received only 31 of the 103 swimmers we had during the initial part of registration Monday Sept 8th. You MUST complete the registration process online to be registered!!! FAST SWIMMER REGISTRATION 

 

The Fredericton Aquanauts Swim Team will be holding our Fall Registration this Monday, September 8th from 5:30 until 7:30 in the lobby of the Sir Max Aitken Pool Building at the North side of UNB's campus. We are inviting all returning swimmers as well as any new children interested in starting this very fun and exciting sport. We have groups to accommodate swimmers starting to learn their strokes to swimmers training for Nationals. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at  frederictonaquanauts@gmail.com  

 

The Registration forms will be available at our registration or you can go to our web site at http://www.swimmingfast.com/pages/main_parent_info.html to shorten your time at the actual registration.

 

We also want to remind parents that they will need a valid email address and your child's NB Medicare number in order to complete your child's registration. Last but not least, you will need to have one cheque for the full payment or enough cheques to write all of your post dated cheques. Your child will not be able to be registered with Swim NB and therefore not able to get in the water until full payment or full post dated cheques have been received.
