Notes from the parent meeting-groups AG1, SEN1, SEN2
Swimmer and Parents,
Starting Jan 05 2012 we will have 2 new dry land programs.
One group will train with Ken Seaman, strength and conditioning specialist from Canadian Sport Centre high performance program. The sessions will take place on Tuesdays 6:00-7:00pm, Thursdays 6:00-7:00pm and Saturdays 9:00-10:00am. There will be small fee associated with the sessions but a lot less that we paid at Kingswood and it will depend on number of swimmers participating in the program. I'm still looking for clarification who is eligible to participate in the program. Swimmers will start with the assessment session and the program is geared towards Canada Games 2013.
Swimmers who are not ready to participate in strength training will train with Alexander and Marta on Tuesday 5:45-6:30pm and Friday 6:00-7:00pm. This program will focus on core strength, agility, balance and coordination. It will be a preparation for the swimmers who over the course of the season may be ready to move to the strength program. Small fee will go towards covering the cost of renting the dance studio.

Yoga sessions during Christmas Training. The first week the sessions will be an introduction to different poses and yoga itself, Marta will lead those. The second week we will have a yoga teacher coming to do a session on the 4th and 6th. There will be a small fee (about $5 ) to cover the sessions with the teacher.
We will be working to establish regular yoga session for swimmers for the rest of the season.
