Final Citrus Update






 

Final Citrus Update

 

We've wrapped up the final pieces of the Citrus fundraiser and I wanted to give everyone a final report.  The swimmer account credits were submitted to Ron, our Treasurer, today and will no doubt filter into the system over the next few weeks.

 

First off, I want to thank Mike Joyce and Serge Pelletier for single-handedly unloading all 370 boxes.  This wasn't the way we planned it – the truck arrived 2.5 hours early and they simply jumped into it and got the job done.  We're very thankful to them for this.

 

And of course more big thanks to Mike who offered up his garage for initial storage and basically was "on call" on this effort from 9am Friday until 9pm Saturday night.  

 

Overall, our order was up almost double from last year.  While we did add 6 new families this year, the increase in our order size was mostly due to the families involved selling more fruit.   

 

Mike and I are very interested in learning how we can make this fundraiser even more beneficial to FAST and our families and we're going to explore some options for next year.

 

Lastly, I want to thank some companies who helped us along the way including Andrew Kelly from Targets for pallet disposal, and Kitchen Fashions,  Ross Ventures, Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival, Air Care, Capital Window Cleaners, Hotchkiss Furniture and Aberdeen Appliance Services who all donated dollies for our use.

 

And again, a very special thanks to Serge for his extra effort on the unload!

Citrus Reminder Friday 11:30Am







CITRUS REMINDER – FRIDAY DECEMBER 7th 11:30 am, 147 Lynhaven St.

 

Friday Unload - we need your help!

 

If you ordered 4 or more boxes, we really need your help this Friday 11:30am - 1pm at Mike Joyce's house at 147 Lynhaven St. (off Smythe, near top) unloading the 360 boxes of fruit.

 

Pick-up - once we are fully unloaded and counted, then we can all pick up our own orders and serve our own customers.

 

For those unable to help - and we truly hope this is a very small number - you can pick up on Friday night from 5 to 9pm.

 

Anything left in Mike's Garage on Sunday happily goes off to the Community Kitchen.

Canada Games Camp #2 male and female selection.






 

                Please find attached the Male and Female selection for the Canada Games camp #2.  I have also attached the selection criteria and schedule.  Registration form is included in the criteria and schedule document, medical forms are attached.
 
               Please note: Registration deadline is December 10 2012.   Alternate selection will be made December 10th.  Any selected swimmer who has not sent in their registration form and medical form by Dec 10 will have their spot given to an alternate.  Registration fee will be collected at check in.

As we prepare for the Christmas Break we have organized a Karaoke/ Gift exchange Christmas Party for the kids.

Date: 18 December 2012
Time: 6-8pm
Place: O'Dell Park
Cost: $5.00/ per child
Food: Pizza

The Gift exchange will be bring a gift get a gift.
Purchase an item (max $10)
Wrap the gift
On the gift tag ONLY sign who the gift is from. Leave the To: blank

Swimmers who bring a gift will have their name entered into a bucket, coaches will then randomly draw names of swimmers to select a gift. This way each child who brings a gift will leave with a gift.

Citrus Information

Top Line Report:    I'm pleased to report that we've almost doubled our citrus sales from last year - to $11.8k. 29 families took part and the median Family order was in the $350 range. You can really see how people increased their sales from last year and took advantage of this great opportunity to off-set their swimmer fees.
